    that poll is amazing...

auburn was ranked 50-something last week

i guess that amazing performance against a division1aa team was so excellent they vaulted all the way to spot 31 this week

Has anybody seen the Dunkel Index this year? The one that ranks teams according to who beat who and by how much. I used to be in the Advocate every football season including last year but I haven't seen it this year.

    LSU is number 4

    www.dunkelindex.com

you can go to yahoo.com and look up American football rankings and you will find a page with a # of different polls. Infact I think the way I found it was by looking up bcs polls all the polls that the bcs uses are on this page. But here is the Dunkel index you were looking for.:geaux:

    Re: LSU is number 4

Thanks DVBR According to this if LSU and Florida were playing this week LSU with a rating of 108.9 would be a 15.8 point favorite over the Crocs with a rating of 96.1 with the 3 points the home team gets added to their rating. I used to love to look at some of the Dunkel point spreads when I was a kid. There were no limits on scholarships and the big schools would just sign every play they could, some just to keep them signing with a rival. When teams like Oklahoma or Nebraska had a rent a win foe scheduled there was no chance at all for the rent a win team because some pretty good players who would be playing for mid majors today were sitting on the bench for the big time team. There were regularly teams favored by 70 or 80 points and sometimes they would even cover that.

Quote from CFN" "Many don’t realize it, but South Carolina really is that good."

What in gods name is CFN's problem with USC. They picked them to win the SEC last year with an 11-1 record and have always had this lovefest with Holtz.....I dont get it

They did play a very good game against the Vols. I still don't think they will have a winning season this year though.
