I just cant reconcile the belief that stopping what has worked all game long is somehow going to achieve a better result. Especially when you are in the lead by 8. If they get one past you and tie it up, so what. Now the ball is yours and you need only score a FG. About the only time a FG matters more than a TD. Otherwise you just go into OT with likely same outcome. Theres gotta be analytics somewhere that tells these guys goin to prevent is wrong choice.
Apologies for not joining the thread last night. I watched the whole game, but had turned off my ipad. Yes, they were playing soft, but they were gassed. CSU’s undisciplined play was their real undoing. I have never seen a team get called for so many personal fouls. Mainly totally unnecessary (away from the action) crack-back blocks. CSU & U of CO really hate each other. Almost reminds me of LSU-Ole Miss, Miss St.-Ole Miss, Aub- Ala playing in the 60’s. CSU called for 17 penalties for 182 yards. CO hah 10 penalties for 87 yards.
