Nutriaitch In your scenario the teams that play crap out of conference and miss the hard opponents like Wisconson did this year get an advantage.

Usually in the SEC in the West Division alone you may have 3 top 5 teams who beat each other.

Should the Wisconsin's of the world have that advantage.

I will put any 2 loss team in the SEC west against some undefeated in some of the power 5.

the season starts in September and also includes the month of October.

adding more teams to the playoffs ignores that fact.

so if you want to just eliminate the value of 2/3 of the season, there is already a football league that does that.
    they play on Sundays.

Let 8 in and prove on the field. They do it in every other division and level of play. The only reason why d1 doesn’t do it is because of money. Ironically if they make more games then they can make more money.

you mean like Alabama did this year?

Bama’s best win against 9-3 LSU (ranked 17 in latest AP poll)
Wisconsin best win against 9-3 Northwestern (ranked 20)

    happened once. ever.
not exactly my definition of “usually”

There are football leagues that play on Saturdays that have 16 team playoffs. They are called FCS and Division II and Division III. If South Dakota State or Nichols can afford to travel to play as many as 4 post season games why can't the big boys play as many as 3?

Team #9 will bitch when there is an 8 team playoff. Then we will have to go to a 16 team playoff-

CFB is more fun than the pros because every loss is a catastrophe. I don't want an eight team playoff where some team with three losses stumbles into a chance to eliminate a team with a perfect record.

Sorry about your "slow start." Better luck next year.

If that’s the case 9 can STFU. Gotta draw a line somewhere. Realistically a #7/8 team could take anyone in the top 5. Let them play it out.

never said they couldn’t afford it.
i said it was a bad idea that waters down the regular season.

so again, if you want to watch a league that forgives/ignores your boo-boos and lets you get a re-do so your fans’ feeling ain’t hurt, you have other options.

however if you want to watch a league that all but demands perfection and forces you to play at the absolute highest level possible every single week starting with opening day, there is only 1 such animal.
