I know it's been pointed out before and it's worth repeating. The commitment and dedication of Jarrett Lee is the stuff of champions. Regardless of whether or not this young man wins a championship, the way he has carried himself and never given up is role model quality in my book. Many may have walked away, transferred, changed directions or given up. This young man stuck to his course and is now growing up as a leader. I think this quote speaks volumes of the young man and his transition to the next level. (From today's Advocate: EAST: Mettenberger) “Zach has done a great job of preparing since he’s been here, so I don’t think Zach will have a problem,” Lee said, “but it would be good for Zach to get in and get some reps. He prepares hard each and every day, so I know he’d do a great job. Zach’s going to get reps this season and he’s going to do a great job when he gets in there." I think it's impressive how this young man wants ZM to get in the game and get his reps. His commitment to the success of the team and everyone involved is impressive. I hope that everyone that is in that stadium tonight cheers at the top of their voices the way we did in Cowboys Stadium last weekend. :geaux:
It's even more impressive when you consider that Lee is talking about the most popular backup QB in the state of Louisiana right now.
Tell you what I have not been sold on JL and frankly pretty pessimistic about him. Regardless on how this season turns out my opinion of JL has been changed. I still don't know how great of a QB he is or will turn out to be(for the record I think he will be fine; no Heisman winner but he will do fine). However, this kid has character that everyone should emulate. It really is a shame that much more will be made of how he performs on the field but we really should be advertising what he does off the field. I am proud that JL is a TIGER!!
