It would if all those guys were the perceived top candidates. Only one of those four is considered a realistic candidate. I think the "fence" in this instance is Jimbo alone, but Aranda or Kiffin would be seen as viable because of their experience, meaning time and level of competition (Franklin fits too, but he doesn't seem to be in the running anymore). Tucker, less so, because while he's got p5 experience, he hasn't been a head coach very long. I don't think Napier checks either box, though he's undeniably talented.
I think I prefer Aranda to Riley, but I had a feeling this morning Riley might be happening. Not sure what’s gone down today. Coming to LSU from OU would be beneficial from a recruiting perspective, I think.
I like Aranda and I think he would be more likely to keep the current coaches that are good and are good recruiters. Specifically Raymond and Joseph. Riley has a couple of years more experience as an HC at a high visibility program. And he's never lost more than 2 games in any of the 4 seasons.
At this point I don't know who Woodward could surprise us with. If it's not one of the 5 or 6 we have all been talking about it will be a huge surprise.
He’s going to tell his team he’s staying right before they run out for kickoff vs us . No f’ing way he’s coming to LSU.
I’m having a hard time in believing that any of the coaches which we have discussed will bail on their current team if they make their respective conference championship game. And definitely not if they make the playoffs. I don’t know of any HC who has previously done this. And since I believe that both Oklahoma and Michigan St. will be in their championship games, I am discounting the possibility of them coming to LSU.
