This offense lacks a playmaker. I thought Bowe would be the guy, but for some reason he has not gotten into the end zone as easily as he used to do. Alley B was once that guy for us also, but has done little this season, even in short yardage situations and still is clearly not up to his 04 form.

Our offense gains yards and moves the chains, they just can't score points against quality defenses. So, with the offense struggling to find big plays, they need to find a game breaker on offense to open things up. (As OSU has with Ginn, Cal has with Lynch, and Florida with Caldwell)

The only guy I have seen with that gamebreaking ability on offense thus far is Early. He has played very well this season, and I appreciate the different ways Jimbo has tried to get him the ball in space as a WR. He looks good running after the catch, so I ask, why not line him up in the backfield? He is big enough and strong enough to be a running back, and has the speed that Vincent and Broussard lack. I think he would be a weapon on sweeps, draws, and screens coming out as a tailback. I know he is a damn good WR, but in my opinion that is a strength that we can afford to borrow from until Keiland Williams, Scott or Murphy is ready to take over as that gamechaning back we are lacking.

Yes I have some thoughts on this. A game breaker is a great thing to have. A TEAM LEADER is a better thing to have. it is still a team sport. This team needs offensive leadership, then yes a gamer would be good too. but a leader first.

We need somebody to get behind. For so long we have had that person to really look towards to make great plays for us. (Faulk,Reed, Mauck,Clayton, Skyler....etc)
Those guys we always look to on third downs. Those players not only won games, but gave an excitement to the games. Those are the players that we would root for in our homemade jerseys. (crayola markers and a t-shirt) Those are the players we had pictures on the walls. When you look back on those years they played, you don't see wins or losses, but great catches and runs. Clayton making a great catch over then middle when Mauck let him out to dry even though we still loss to FLA. Kevin Faulk running for 150 yards but still losing to Bama.These are the players we talk about before we go into the game, the players we still root for whether it being in the NFL or setting up their new car dealership.

I really miss it this year. Instead we all wonder if D. Bowe will hold on to that ball. Will Jamarcus keep throwing it behind the receivers so they can't make any YAC? Leadership is the most important thing by far, but these type of athletes always proved themselves on and off the field. Born great athletes and great leaders. This Bud's for you!

I think the playmaker would be a running qb... someone who can give some spark to the running game... but Miles will not pull mr. golden arm...

Yeah, the one thing this offense clearly lacks is the constant threat of a Pick 6.

Everybody is hard on Bowe...Wow. Bowe missed a few catches but he made some great ones too. Lets not forget the plays that put us in the holes...the muffed kicks. Those had more affects on the game than Bowe's missed catches. Doucet misse a couple himself.

Our WR's are some of the best, but they weren't ready to play just like all our other play makers, except for Hester.

Oh yeah, teams will now put a man on Hester on 3rd and 4th down because if it is a big 3rd and 4th he will get a lob pass in the flats.

Sure the players let themselves down on kick returns, INT's, missed catches, fumbled snaps, etc but at some point the coaches have to change the game plan.

When you are down 23-7 midway through the 3rd qtr, UF rotates the D-line players every couple of plays, time is your enemy, and you can't run the ball for anything, why don't the staff make a change to the game plan.

If they must run the ball, why do they continue to run AB/JV when Scott outperformed them in MSU and Tulane and hits harder and is faster???

Why must you run the ball when it is ineffective and you have 11/2 qtrs to score 3 times? Why do you still use all the play clock in calling plays in the 3rd and early 4th qtrs when you are down 23-7 and UF keeps rotating the D-line? Why not use hurry up to keep the D-line on the field and just walk the field with 10-15 yd passes like they did in the 4th? Why not throw a deep ball occassionally?

the lack of a playmaker on O has been obvious since last year. i was hoping AB would be the guy or KW but the publisher's clearing house screwed his chances. our receivers appear to be solid now at getting open and catching the ball but no "playmakers". i was hoping ED might turn into one, but he doesnt have "it".

to be a great team you need them or to have lots of luck and an amazing D (like 01? Ohio St - which this team doesnt have either, btw).

The playmaker's name is Xavier Carter . Don't think Miles didn't have plans for his this year. Look how Miles utilized Bennie's speed last year. The X-man is the deep home run threat that we lack.
