Remember the little beagle who got lost 7 weeks ago? He's safe at home!! Thanks to all for your prayers and (those who lived close by and kept an eye out) for looking for him. Special thanks to St. Francis of Assissi and the Blessed Virgin for their intercession.
Congratulations... And what a coincidence... Tune into CNN. Today they're showing the story of a beagle who got lost in Kansas, but showed up at Auburn, Alabama. An Auburn student, I think, found "Kansas" on his collar, and found the dog's owner. An Auburn couple has volunteered to drive the pooch back to Kansas. There's no place like home!
Thanks Rex!!! That's quite a story. A nice bonus to mine: While he was only 7-10 miles from home the whole time, a Tiger found him. I'd mailed postcards with his picture and info to the area he was in. We got a call April 26 while we were walking the other dogs from a guy who'd gotten a postcard. He saw Max and followed him into the industrial area near 4th St & Peters Rd, where Max disappeared into a truck yard. The same guy called last night. He has an LSU license plate on the front of his car. When we got out to where Max was, he'd already left, but our fellow Tiger pointed out the direction he'd gone and went looking for him. We found him, and he came over to us because we had his littermate with us. Anyway, the guy who helped us find him went way above and beyond the call of duty. He still had a Lost Dog flyer in his car and must have been watching for Max the whole time.
We were going to give him away, and we took him out to his new home. After we left he slipped his collar. The new owners didn't really look for him much, since they couldn't be sure it was him and he didn't know them. We're going to go ahead and keep him.
