The BCS is working exactly the way it was intended to. The BCS does not care when you lose. It looks at the entire season. It doesn't matter if you lose early or you lose late in the season. The Human polls do just the opposite. They look at when you lose. The later the loss, the more you get penalized for it. However, the BCS is working as it was intended to. Your comments...................... btw, Howdy Boomer Sooner
I would modify the BCS to count championship games as more than regular games (for both winning and losing), or just ban teams that don't win their conference championships from playing in the national title game.
Something has to be done about the strength of schedule as well. An 8-4 Florida team is stronger than an 8-4 Memphis team, or a 9-2 utah team for that matter.
I also think that a National Championship play in game would be the best solution to the BCS problem. 1- it allows all the bowls to stay just the way they are. It will only effect two bowls. One the National Championship game and two the second place bowl. The number one team in the country would play host to the 4 th ranked team the week after final exams and the 2 nd rank team would play host to the 3rd ranked team. Now what does all this do. One it generates money for and allows for one more home game that season. two it gives a fighting chance to the non bcs school (get in the top 4 and you have a chance to play for the national title). And of course it will also allow the two schools who win to go into the national championship with a win. the two schools who lose will be playing for 3 and 4th place. the two schools who win play for 1st and 2nd. This means that if you lost the national championship game the worst you can do is be second. Anyway thats my thoughts.
I think its working like it was intended too. but To get a true national champion we have to get rid of the human polls, they can't get it right and it shows with some of thier comments Nevermind those phonies on the left coast
