Correct. They're entitled to it. Only when the First Amendment is rewritten, which will not happen. I reject your slippery slope innuendo against taking down Confederate monuments from public property.
Has anyone ever visited the pyramids? If so did you go because you support slavery or go to see an ancient wonder?
Your post is laughable and would have to be orders of magnitude more acute to even qualify as specious. The pyramids have scientific, architectural, and archaeological value totally lacking in Confederate statues, and they were not built as a giant "fuck you" to minority citizens of this country. Has it escaped your notice that African Americans do not call for the removal of the White House and other monuments in Washington even though slaves were forced to build them? Can you even understand why not? Well, I just gave you an insight.
Thats not why they were built anymore than the pyrmaids where built as a fuck you to the slaves that built them.
You're either lying or very ignorant. A great portion of them were erected in the 1960's in response to the civil rights moment.
New Orleans was the flashpoint for monument removal earlier this year; 4 of them were removed. The newest of them, the PGT Beauregard statue, was erected in 1915, 102 years ago. Have your facts in order before you call someone else ignorant.
I didn't say all of them, but those from earlier, just like this one I'm staring at right now here in Richmond, were erected for the exact same reason: to portray the fight for keeping people enslaved as a noble enterprise.
