1. Holiday Dec. 30 8 p.m. California vs. Texas Tech - A Texas Tech upset moves us up a spot. 2. Liberty Dec. 31 3:30 p.m. Louisville vs. Boise State - It doesn't matter who wins; we move up a spot after this game. 3. Outback Jan. 1 11 a.m. Wisconsin vs. Georgia - Wisconsin win should move us up a spot. 4. Rose Bowl Jan. 1, 4:30 p.m. Texas v. Michigan - Texas win keeps Michigan from moving ahead of us. Michigan win is risky, because Texas could stay ahead of us and Michigan might move ahead of us but both could finish behind us with a Michigan win too. 5. Fiesta Bowl Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m. Utah v. Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh upset moves us up a spot. 6. Sugar Bowl Jan. 3, 8 p.m. Auburn v. Virginia Tech - Auburn win moves us up a spot. If LSU wins, the best we could probably finish is sixth. Realistically, we will probably finish ninth.
I'm with DD on this one ... GA and Richt are not an AU & CTT I'll expect GA to win ... Wisconsin has melted down and won't show up GA cannot touch LSU in next season's rankings, we'll be ahead of them whether they win or not ... it's simple overall team talent and recruiting It's the magic of Nick Saban ... and something else GA can't get :hihi:
I concur. GEAUX Red Raiders! I'm going for Boise. It may help us more. GEAUX Boise! I concur. Hard to imagine Wisconsin moving ahead of us, unless, perhaps, they beat the Dawgs convincingly - which won't happen. GEAUX Badgers! I'm going for Michigan. I'll take my chances on staying ahead of Michigan, and I really, really, really dislike the teasippers. GEAUX, GEAUX, GEAUX Wolverines!!! I concur. GEAUX Panthers! I concur. GEAUX Auburned!
You were spouting this crap before the beginning of the season, and lo and behold 45-16. Overall team speed, strength, talent, and recruiting did not help us a lick.
I disagree. The winner of the BCS title game is the national champion. That's the way it's set up. If you believe what you wrote in your post above, then do you feel like USC was the national champion last year?
Last year, the AP had USC #1 and LSU #2 going into the Bowls. Had LSU had the opportunity, I believe they would have beaten USC. Having said that, the Mythical championship is determined only in part by the AP - it is only one third of the equation.
Well.. how does the media benefit?.. from more coverage.. what kind of coverage does the media get from a USC-OU matchup.. they get California and Texas... an USCorOU - Auburn matchup only gives them half of the coverage...
Ditto! Reguardless, I think a win in the Capital One gets us into the top 10. I always root for the SEC to go undefeated in the Bowl games. :geaux: Capital One Bowl :champs:
