I am sorry if this is old news again, but I saw on the Tiger Rant that the 3 coaches were Oregon's Mike Belloti (SP), Illionis Ron Turner, and South Carolina's Lou Holtz. I find it suprising a coach from the SEC would vote against us. here is the link from the rant: http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/MessageTopic.asp?Post=120964&BoardID=1&View=2
Lou Holtz?! And to think I respected that man. I find it odd that Pete Carroll towed the line. What a long, strange trip it's been.
Pete Carroll does not have a vote in the coaches poll. He admitted such after the Rose Bowl game, and he is happy he doesn't because he would have voted for USC. I am not shocked Holtz voted for USC....he has always been one to try and buck the system when he could. It makes me wish LSU would have hung 50+ on him in Columbia this year. OH well....we are the champions. Let the rest of the college football world deal with. Nothing will bring me down.
I was wrong, I said that I didn't believe Holtz would do that. Nick Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ever call off the dogs against South Carolina again! I hope Holtz gets fired and we never give carol---ina any slack as long as Holtz is there. I kinda liked Holtz until now
I never liked Holtz. Too arrogant. Quit ND when the going got tough so he wouldn't be fired. Can't beat you outright, so he resorts to gimmick plays. He may be storied, but seriously lacks credibility. And now with this vote, you can betcha last dollar that other SEC schools will be gunning for him.
I'm an Auburn guy who lives in Columbia, SC and let me tell you, it's hard to put up with Lou Holtz and all these Gamecock idiots. I'm surprised that he stabbed LSU in the back like that, though. But you gotta remember, he's from Ohio. What the hell does he know? Anyway, congratulations on an awesome season. :geaux:
