Dupree is a heck of a player, but he has to know the situation. That Technical was horrible. They got lucky and won, but it was much closer than it should have been. It was a great win though.
exactly...ive never understood the "lucky" talk...the fact is LSU did it and Zona didnt. thats not luck... weather its Shaq, Stro, or Lloreda down low...zona cant win here
I think that Zona was lucky just to be in the game at the end. The Tigers thoroughly outplayed them the entire game, holding a double digit lead through the most of the 2nd half. Also, LSU is the lead story right now on ESPN.com. Great exposure for the program.
And to blame Dupree for taking a timeout is pointless. He was blatantly shoved from behind by an Arizona player which forced him out of bounds. The problem with timeouts started earlier in the game when they wasted 4 timeouts trying to save the posession or when they were scrumming on the floor. Brady needs to tell them to just try to throw the ball off somebody's legs or hold on for a jump ball. LSU went the last 10 minutes without a timeout, during which Arizona went on a 14-2 run with LSU unable to stop the clock to stem the tide. Timeouts are more important at the end of a game when strategy changes from posession to posession. To waste one to keep the ball with most of the 2nd half to play is a mistake.
