Thank goodness for UNO, USL and Toolame (My letter to nick pittman) I am very happy to say that UNO, USL and Toolame are all still around. The reason I mention this is because for LSU to be recognized as the greatest college football program in the country, there must be schools out there for it to tower over. Granted, UNO does not have a football program, and many of you might argue (uncontested) that the same could be said for the other schools. However if LSU was the only program in the State, we would be saddled with all of the the bush league fans and writers like Nick Pittman ([email protected]): the other schools give these clowns a place to go to. Let's refrain from condemning those that attended these schools or the schools themselves - many are great people who do not suffer from such myopia. However, now is the time to recognize EXACTLY WHY it is important to have one, central flagship State University and rally around it. It is time for LOUISIANA to say to the Nation, "LOOK AT US!" and be proud. True, the other LA State schools do suck money away from LSU, but that is our state motto - the mother pelican taking from her own flesh so that her underlings may grow, so although it hurts a little bit, we are all better off. I will continue to pull for the other state schools when they are not playing LSU despite the few morons that these universities appear to have attracted, because I love Louisiana. Even though I am from New Orleans, I will not pull for Toolame, because they are not a State school and the far majority of their students are from outside of N.O. (Penn, and NY so says the enrollment records). Each of these institutions do contribute jobs and education to many young people in this State, so I recognize the necessity. I will also continue to buy Louisiana products FIRST and support Lousiana jobs where I can. What I don't understand is how Louisiana residents, whose taxes support the State institutions, are not proud of the accomplishments of all State institutions.
Re: Thank goodness for UNO, USL and Toolame (My letter to nick pittman) SPOKEN LIKE A GENTLEMAN!! Hear! Hear! Well put, Squire. :geaux: :lsug:
I agree, I would be PROUD to play Tulane in the air-conditioned sold out Dome on 9/4/2003 and return to the scene of the Sugar Bowl crime to start the 2004 season. It would be great for Louisiana and besides ... a 70-0 good sporting woodshed whipping would be a great way to start the season. And, we could even pretend to let Tulane think they sold the dome out
Too late. I was at the horrible place for a year before I was SAVED by LSU and FOUND ELYSIAN FIELDS. I worked with those people and the far majority of them hated LSU solely because of envy. I will never forget the homo Ken something working in the LA collection - made me sick to my stomach - still does. That campus was complete dullsville.
Stop being an ass. Those fans love there school just like you love LSU. That attitude is why people hate LSU. Love LSU and leave them alone...
