You carry around a gun and you already have a built in excuse for a court of law. You're obvouisly scared for your life or you wouldn't need to carry one around if you weren't.
Your statement ignores the fact that the only people that this law enables is lawful gun owners, Some dickhead who wants to shoot people on a campus (or anywhere for that matter) does not care 1 damn iota if its legal to carry a weapon or not.
Let's say you get into it with someone and you shoot them. For a self defense argument to work you have to prove that you feared for your life. If you carry a gun, don't you carry it because you fear something may go down and you have to protect your life? So just by carrying a gun you have already proven you fear for your life.
But the campus gun laws were not only to prevent lone nuts from mass killings but also to prevent the kind of frat house shootings and other anger-based shootings that would have been fist fights if nobody was armed.
Nonsense. Some carry one around because they are looking for trouble. Some people carry guns around because they think it makes their dick bigger. I only carry a gun when I'm going to dangerous places. Campus is not one of them.
