Let's make heroin legal on campuses too. I mean drugs don't kill people, people kill people right? For the record I'm pro gun, but I don't want some trigger happy cowboy with a gun anywhere near me. I don't trust police with them, much less Tex McAustin who has a NRA sticker on the back of his truck.

You would think that in almost 50 years, the US would have learned to do more about mental health. Whitman was a prime example, and a nearly perfect footprint for what would happen over and over again. It's not about the guns.

I don't think trigger happy cowboys are a problem. People with drug and alcohol problems, a history of family violence, and possibly combined with mental instability are far more dangerous. Or your basic criminal with a gun and financial needs.

Who is suggesting that everyone be armed? People who want to be, can be. If you don't want a gun, don't purchase one.

Heroin should be legal everywhere. Prohibition of drugs is one of the biggest causes of gun violence.

Mental health isn't an easy problem to solve. It's maybe the hardest.

If everyone else is, I'm damn sure gonna be and when the bullets start flying and it's my life on the line everyone is getting shot im not gonna try and deduce who is the bad guy and who isn't, because when you hesitate you die.

I agree. We might have to start with family and friends getting over the stigma or the idea that "it couldn't be my son".

We'd also have to consider the role that pharmacy companies play in providing massive quantities of meds to doctors who so easily write mood-altering prescription meds with no thought or concern about the actual patient and possible therapy. We are doing nothing to treat problems, only in delaying them.

I can't see any avantage to being armed. I think the best plan is to run. Plus who wants to carry a gun we already have to carry a phone and wallet and create unsightly bulges in our silhouette.

Plus owning a gun is stressful. What if you have a rough night and get plastered and blow your own brains out.
