Should help our recruiting standings but we'll likely have to give him the Eli Manning treatment down the road. http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=168&p=...tedURL=http://florida.scout.com/2/602725.html Didn't know if it belonged here or not cause this is what it says on the recruiting forum:
I've said from the beginning that I think this guy is the best QB in the nation. He's really good. He was a gator legacy, but there is still a few reasons why this is confusing. Mainly, he doesn't fit Meyer's system very well - unlike Tebow who is perfect for it. Two, Florida already has 2 QB recruits this year, including one Juco.
wow...and I just saw where they lost there backup snead who's transferring to ole miss....they've got to be running out of qbs eventually.
I hadn't heard of him before seeing this in the USC forum and didn't know Fla. already had two this year. Given that information, it's puzzling to me too.
This does affect LSU recruiting for 2 reasons. One, Texas may now go after LSU QB commit Lee, and two, it is possibly this would influence our WR recruit Toliver - who is between us & Florida.
Perra? When did he get that nickname? Anyway, I was reading up on this and apparently there's a few things at play here. Texas' OC came out and said that they wanted to run an option type offense where the QB runs a lot - which puts Brantley in a position where he'd be playing out of his element in either system. Also, Texas has an athlete recruit this year who was told he would play QB.
John Chiles out of Mansfield Summit - he is in the RP and VY mold, had a pretty impressive season this year running and throwing the ball.
I guess Brantley looked at UT and saw McCoy who started 10 games and looked very good, and saw Snead transfer figuring he couldn't beat McCoy out. Then he looks a Fla. and Leak is moving on, Tebow has minimal playing time, and looked very good for a running back taking the snap, but his arm has not been proven in college. Where you gonna take your shot? Fla. I guess.
