...FINALLY UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE! Opening 1st week of November according to the site. I have never anticipated a restaurant opening this much. For those of you who don't know what it is, think Fogo de Chao. For those of you who don't know what Fogo de Chao is, its basically an all-you-can-eat meat thing. I am careful about calling it a buffet because it really isn't. They call it Brazilian barbecue. This is how it works. You get a "coaster". One side is green and one side is red. It starts off red. When you want meat, you flip it over to green and all these dude dressed as "gauchos" (South American Cowboys) come to your table with HUGE cuts of grilled meat on 3' long skewers. They tell you what it is and ask if you would like some. If you decide you want some, they slice off a piece and you grab it with the little tongs you have and put it on your plate. This continues until you flip your little coaster back to red. You do this until you cannot hold any more. When you finished that serving, you flip your coaster back to green and the fun begins again. They also give you unlimited sides of mashed potatoes and fried plantains. You won't bother. The meat is cooked and seasoned to perfection. The food is incredible and the whole experience is second to none. When this place opens, if you like meat, you have to go. It is heaven. My personal favorite is the filet mignon (also wrapped in bacon) and the bottom sirloin. They had some kind of house special last time we went too and it was incredible as well, but I don't know what cut of meat it is. http://texasdebrazil.com/ Check out the pictures. It will be in Perkins Rowe and should run about $45 a person. Don't get soda to drink. They bring a glass bottle of it that you use to refill your glass and they charge you like $3 for each each bottle. It is expensive, but it is totally worth it to go at least once. Oh, there is a massive salad bar too. But who cares about that.
The Fogo that we went to in Houston (closest one) has TV's at the bar but the main dining area didn't have them. I haven't been to a TdB yet so I don't know if they will have TVs or not. I just know it is basically the same thing as FdC and that that much amazing meat in whatever quantity I choose is enough to go. We spent 3 hours at FdC when we went. Aside from the $30 in Dr. Pepper we ended up consuming, I totally got my money's worth.
My wife and her family went to the one in Ft. Worth to celebrate her brothers graduation from TCU grad school. But she talked about eating at that %@&* place for a month... and she doesnt even really like meat... I've been wanting to find a reason to go to Ft. Worth just to go... going to the one in BR will be much easier. I can't wait!
I liked it, but I couldn't get my wife to go back because she isn't a fan of all-you-can-eat red meat.
THERE IS A SALAD BAR. Your wife has no excuse...even if it would be the most expensive salad bar of all time.
