No, getting kicked off the team, or better yet, going to jail, is the "ultimate" penalty. (Unless you want to consider the death penalty.)

    Fulmer is such an ass!

what makes u penalize a player for "being there even though he didn't participate in any of the activities?"

From what I've heard, the guy had several things and place that were off limits to him because of previous offenses. So he is being punished for constantly not following orders. Saban would have dismissed him from the team. Hopefully Miles will be just as tough.

How come every time a player is benched for misbehaving, they get to come back right before that team plays us? It happend last year with GA.

    From today's Nashville Tennessean:

"In the past, Fulmer has been hesitant to bench a player as punishment for off-the-field transgressions. His rationale is that it's unfair to penalize the other players for something they didn't do".

    Now there's some heavy thinking.

I don't like Phat Phil, either.

It'll be nice to get him and Mr Meyer in Tiger Stadium this season.

Won't have to go to OT to whip his team's ass this year like we did last time they came to town.

Tenn has sold their sole to the devil and this is what they are reaping. We have 2 die hard vol fans in our Nashville office who tried telling me yesterday that whats going on in Knoxville is no different than whats going on at other schools all over the country. Ya right! These poor misguided soles are completely and utterly brain washed in orange.

Since Feb of 2004 Tenn has had 11, count em, 11 unsavory incidents involving players and the law. Phatso has never run a tight ship and its no coincidence that current and especially former Tenn players have had by far the most serious run-ins with the law. Everything from drug trafficking and rape to murder. This is truly a program that has deteriorated into a slim pit with Phatso leading a cast of unsightly characters.

True Tenn fans ought to be embarrassed over this continuing rash of legal trouble. Phatso should be shown the door and kicked to the curb but it will never happen. The Tenn mentality is only concerned about winning and is willing to put up with these $hit stains on their program in order to do so. How pathetic.

Heres part of an article in the Mobile Register, click the link for the entire thing.

Of course, I bleed black n Gold bias.... but the difference between Fulmer and Ferentz is...

Last year we had a running back, Albert Young, who was all-everything in New Jersey. At the start of the season he was listed on the two-deep behind Jermelle Lewis.
The night before the very first game, Young got arrested outside some bar... the "night-before" thing was a breach of team rules and he was benched FOR THE SEASON.
When Jermelle went down with injury, followed by three more backs, everyone thought Ferentz would find a way to put Young in ...Lord knows we needed something!
Ferentz never waivered. The team just pulled together and worked around it.
    There's a lesson here, Phil.

wow. that article is really harsh! good for them. i guess there's still a lot of animosity about the fat phil/bama recruiting scandal (although i've never been quite clear of what exactly happened).
