The "superior" East nearly lost all of their games. Nice going.

tenn. has become a reflection of their coach.
Isnt it ironic that both of the old sec powerhouses lost in their bowls.

    Fulmer is a bad coach

My brother-in-law (who is my age--52) went to Tennessee and actually played a little as a freshman and sophomore (really he just practiced...didn't get on the field)--I say this to indicate that he cares about Tennessee and knows a little about football. He thinks Fulmer is a terrible coach and always has been, and he also really thinks very little of Casey Clausen. I know that Fulmer has had success but he did have Peyton Manning and I think that thrust Tennessee into the limelight, allowing them to get some good recruits (sort of like the Ole Miss situation right now.) I see no team spirit or teamwork--we saw that when we played them in the SECCG two years ago. I think Tennessee will not get better until they get a new coach, and that will be tough since Fulmer has been there forever and is a Tennessee product. But their performance tonight was a total embarrassment, made even worse by the comments Mike Gottfried made about how Fulmer was trying a new tack because he was so upset by their poor showing in a bowl game last year. Obviously it didn't work...

Since Tennessee players are forced to do their class work and Cutcliffe left, Tenn has been in a downward spiral. This is about as bad as I have ever seen Tenn play and I have been living about forty miles from Knoxville since 1969.

    I totally agree NJTiger,

Kinda like Dinardo winning with Hullman's recruits.

    or

Barry Switzer winnning with JJ's Cowboys

the talent is fading at Tennessee and it wouldn't surprise me if
they hit Rock bottom next year.

I watched them this year against Florida and they were so unimpressive.

Ever since then I thought Tennessee wasn't as good as people made out and now the truth comes to light.

Re: Fulmer is a bad coach

Maybe so but a Clemson fan made a post in Rocky Top Sports that the ex Florida coach is looking for a job he may want the job at Tennessee it is a good thing I have a small page the Vol fans would be up set a bit . It was a bad game and when you look back at the games the SEC is getting the worst calls UT had a couple I thought was bad . If LSU starts to run away with the game you watch we are going to get some call to slow down the team GEAUX TIGERS !!!!!!

tennessee is too cold for Spurrier, he would never coach there for that reason.

He prefers the weather of the south and coaching there.

He did take the Redskin job because he wanted a chance in the
    NFL.

    Besides,

Fulmer just signed an extension with Tenn that will help them be
    average for quite some time

As much as I love for the SEC as a whole to do well in bowl season......... I can't see the efforts of a quality team go un-noticed or tarnished. Clemson has been ON FIRE late season and has played lights out; give Clemson credit where it is due. They have earned it on the field over the past couple months of the season. Much like a team we all love .... You know, the team that did not really beat Georgia early in the season.....

As for the SEC, a 4-2 record thus far is not bad at all.
