DEc 3: LA Times is reporting that it will be UF versus OSU. Other unconfirmed reports have LSU accepting the Sugar bowl invitation
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-bcs4dec04,0,948269.story?track=mostviewed-homepage The BCS bowl lineup is now expected to be: Rose: USC vs. Michigan. Sugar: Notre Dame vs. LSU. Orange: Louisville vs. Wake Forest. Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Boise State. Florida's jump over No. 3 Michigan, which was idle Saturday and has not played since a three-point loss to No. 1 Ohio State on Nov. 18, likely will cause more uproar in BCS circles. This will mark the fifth time in the nine-year history of the BCS that there has been controversy involving the title-game participants. In the end, enough voters in the Harris Interactive and USA Today coaches' polls moved Florida to No. 2, ahead of Michigan, on their final ballots. Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel released a statement today saying he did not vote in the final coaches' poll to avoid the perception of a conflict of interest.
....still holding on to the slim chance Rose takes LSU as has been rumored... notice that they say "expected"....
I don't think that will happen. Where would Michigan land? Any further falling from "prime" games will lead to an even greater uproar. And the Big-10 Conference will take not of this with the TOR people. You don't damage a long-term relationship for a quick fling with a better looking opponent.
Can't do it. Rose has to take the Pac-10 champ if available. Since UM is not the Big-10 champ, they are at-large
USC has to go to the Rose Bowl by virtue of bowl tie-ins. Pac-10 Champion HAS to go if they aren't in the NC game or decline their invitation.
somebody on one of the Michigan forums said he heard this on the local radio: Rose: USC vs. LSU Sugar: Notre Dame vs. Boise State Orange: Michigan vs. Wake Forest. Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Louisville Championship Game: Ohio State vs. Florida i'm not saying it reliable, or likely. However the BCS has said (so I heard froma few people now) to expect something unexpected or something like that. The BCS might do this to even out the bowls. As the projects are now, the Rose and Sugar have a BIG advantage while the Orange (WF vs LV) yawn and Fiesta (Ok vs Boise) yawn have crappy matchups. Just trying to convince myself this will happen even though we all know theres a 99.9% chance Rose takes Michigan. USC to Rose is automatic because they won the Pac-10
For what it is worth, just got off the phone with a friend that is a ticket broker in Pasadena.....says rumor, I repeat rumor, is that LSU is still going to Rose. I was calling to get LSU Sugar Bowl tickets and he talked me out of it until the official invitations are made. Sure hope there is some truth to the rumors.
