If LSU wins out they will be there. All we have to do is finish #2 in the BCS. I see losses for S. Fla and BC, possibly 2 for each.

Everyone remain calm there is a lot of football to play. As a matter of fact we should only be concerned about Auburn and getting back the intensity level we had for Fla.

I see the UK game as a wakeup call and a blessing in disguise. Lets rock Tigers!LSU!

We don't need to look in the rearviewmirror. USF and BC will take care of themselves.....All we need to focus on tis the opponent we have that week and try to dominate them! WE need our Defense to step up. If ARK's Defense can hold AU to 0 TD's our Defense should be able to do the same!

The fact that we were the last (minus Cal) of the one loss teams to be upset and we are still ranked ahead of all of them says a lot about our position right now. All LSU needs to do is take care of it on the football field. Everything else is out of their control.

Not really on topic, but what people are forgetting about is Oklahoma. USF and BC aren't the only people we have to worry about. If Oklahoma wins out and maintains their lead over us in both human polls, they will finish ahead of us in the BCS. They won't pass us in the computers, but they'll be close enough to make the human vote (which counts for 2/3) trump us.

I don't agree about OU leaping over us in the BCS if we both win out. That's because LSU will close the gap in the human polls significantly if we win out. Voters already know we are the best team in the nation but are forced to move us down to #5 in the polls due to a semi-fluke loss. LSU has more credibility in the polls than OU has. OU's conference isn't very strong this year.

LSU will hold off OU in the BCS.

We do have to hope that teams in the North start to lose (Mizzou, Kansas, etc) so that the CCG opponent for OU isnt' that strong.

We have to hope Florida runs the table so that beating them twice would be too impressive to overlook.

You may be right. I did qualify my point by saying "if" Oklahoma mantains there lead. This year of all years it seems the pollster's have been more willing to move teams even without a loss (see us jumping USC the week before they lost and us only falling to #5 after a loss).

I certainly hope your right, but I'm sure Oklahoma's going to look dominant the rest of the way and will start getting that media steam engine going. Us gaining votes on Oklahoma is the big variable.

USC got penalized for playing poorly this week even though they won. They fell to #9 in the Coaches poll.

So this year more than any other style points are seeming to matter greatly.

So we need to start this week by beating Auburn handily and playing outstanding defense. If we do that, it will have a profound effect on the voters the rest of the way (as long as we win out). A sloppy win over Auburn and voters would be much more reluctant to get back on our bandwagon.

Of course, Ohio State losing to Penn State, Wisconsin, or Michigan would make this moot.

Why is that? You already counting on USF and BC to lose I suppose?

Yeah... a bit premature I guess. But all this speculation was already assuming a BC and USF loss. BC I like to lose to VT after their bye. If they get past that, they have a tough road with FSU (bad, but still capable of biting them), Clemson, Miami, and Maryland, along with the ACC Championship. Just no way they run that. If they do, I'll stamp their ticket to New Orleans.

USF could very well run the table at this point, but they do have to get past Cincinnatti, UConn, Rutgers and Louisville to do it. I think their inexperience in this high pressure situation will get to them.
