Where any of you guys that visit this forum the fellas at bama's A day game with the LSU trailer? If so we enjoyed hanging with you for awhile. Now for the real question. When tailgating before a game do you welcome folks to come over and drink/chat/watch a game even if they aren't LSU fans? or do you prefer to be surrounded by your own fans and it'd be a cold day in hell before you'd allow an opposing fan near your tailgate? The reason I ask is because on several occasions even in Death valley I've had some tailgaters wave us over , it all makes for some fun banter. i've done the same myself heck I don't much care who they pull for in most cases it's all about college ball talk anyhow.
I think you will find that at least 90% of LSU fans will gladly welcome/invite you to their tailgate. Thats what its all about!
we've had orange and blue, red and blue, greenies, red and black, maroon, jailhouse orange, and even crimson colored fans at our tailgate. we welcome all. :thumb:
Tiger Bait, then invite. But only if they are good sports. You will occasionally get the easily offended opposing fan that only came to be left alone. You know them, the ones who walk straight from the car to their visiting section seats. Lighten up.
Assuming they have any cajun blood in them, the only thing they like better than feeding their old friends and family is feeding total strangers/new friends. Sounds very strange but if you were raised here, you'de understand. Best part is it seems to be contagious to the rest of the conference, corny but "pay it forward". Later, Fur
Exactly, Tiger Bait and other Cheers toward opposing fans is almost like a test. If they cant take it in stride, then please move on you wont be able to handle my buddies at the tailgate anyway.
Usually the rude fans are followed by someone apologizing for their behaivor, offering a beer and some good conversation. I enjoy meeting people from other schools. It's what makes the wait for the game great .
I thinks it's a majority SEC (southern) thing anyhow, when I lived in California I had the opportunity to see a few UCLA and USC games, the atmosphere is a bit different to put it lightly. I agree though if you can't handle a little ribbing you should just go straight to your seats anyhow. We (me and the family) make it a point to get there fairly early in the morning even if it's a night game just to hang out and have a little fun before the game. Maybe it's just my location that helps out alot I live next door to a Gator fan an Auburn fan and across the street from a LSU fan. ( Someone is cutting alotta grass after this season , just a friendly bet!) It really is just good old fun when it comes down to it.
The food for sure. :thumb: One of the things that surprised me when I first started posting in the USC forum, was the fear of visiting TS. There is actually a worry about attacks. Naturally, most opposing fans hear about incidents like the Tennessee bus rocking incident. I'm sure it can sometimes get out of hand at any stadium. This poor guy lost his eye.....sad part is, he didn't really want to attend the game but did cause of something to do with friend begging or something, don't remember but sure vball knows. Anyway, he goes and loses a freakin eye in the process: http://cbs2.com/sports/local_story_339220843.html
