I have been using this recipe for a while. I know it is more of a Texas recipe, but it is REALLY good and takes hardly anytime to make.

    Prep Time: 5 Minutes

    Cook Time: 20 Minutes

    6 Servings

    Ingredients
    2 LB Ground Beef
    1 - 1/2 Cups of Water
1 - 15 oz. Can Mild Chilli Beans
    1 - 15 oz. Can Pinto Beans
    1 - 4 oz. Can Green Chile
1 - 10 oz. Can Diced Tomatos w/ Green Chile
    1 - 10 oz. Can Stewed Tomatos
1 - 1.5 oz. Packet of Ranch Dressing Powder
1 - Packet of Taco Seasoning
1 - Bag of Corn Tortilla Chips
1 - Bag of Four Cheese

    Directions
In large pot brown ground beef until it is no longer pink. Drain ground beef then place over medium heat and add taco seasoning. Continue to add all of the ingredients above except for the Chips and Cheese. Let simmer for 15 minutes then serve. We usually put some cheese in the bottom of the bowl then the Taco Soup then crack up some of the chips and mix it together and eat.

This is a really easy meal that tastes GREAT! Hope you guys enjoy!

Thanks for posting. I always look forward to trying out member suggested recipes. So is this really like a soup or is it just the name? Seems like it would be thicker than a soup.

Looks like basically the same thing I make. I make mine in the crock pot though and normally slop a few extra seasonings in there with it. This stuff is awesome.

Why all the freakin' beans? Not that I'd actually put them in there if I cooked it.

That's a half more than would go into anything I cook. I hate the texture of beans.

I forgot to include the cup and a half of water just added it. Anyhow, it is a really thick soup. I put all the beans in because I like the texture and everything about the beans. You could try it without it and I am sure it would still be good. I have even made this meal here then threw it into the some tostada shells then overed them with cheese and let them back for about 5-7 minutes or until the shells start to brown.

It's soup. Nothing with tomatoes or beans in it is Chili.
