Show, because I can't catch Nick's Show. anyway the interviewer said, " again coach it was a tough situation going into Baton Rouge with the tigers coming off a difficult lose to Auburn. They were ranked 13th and had been ranked much higher previously. Coach we knew they were a very very fine football team, what are your thoughts? Coach Croom, " LSU may have 12 teams in front of them in the polls now but I assure you as this season comes to an end there will not be 12 teams in front of them." the show is on right now. Croom does know football so he sees some good things. They just showed Alley scoring.
While he might or might not be a good coach, he's right. With our young talent, The sky's the limit for this team. I see us improving each week from here on out. Croom has never been much more than a position coach..........
Croom's going to do a fine job at MSU. He only has about 7 SEC caliber players right now, but he will rebuild MSU into a good football program. He is just trying to hang on right now. ldskule:
I already saw a big improvement over the past three years. No players on the sideline in coach's faces refusing to go in the game, only one penalty I believe, which would have been unheard of under Sherrill. He has already brought discipline and structure to the program. Until he has time to recruit, he's done about all he can at this point.
I like Croom. IMO he took a job that is a no win situation. With probation coming, I don't see him turning things around at State. I would have stayed with the Pack until a better job opened up.
Under the terms of his contract, he is given a four year period which he will be judged on that doesn't begin until after whatever sanctions the NCAA passes down are over. Not a bad deal. Plus, after Bama shafted him, I think the extra incentive of being able to recruit against them and play them every year had to play a big part in the decision. He will do well recuiting in MS and Alabama.
On what do you base the statement that he will rebuild MSU into a good football program? He won't be able to do it without players, that's for sure. What makes you think that he'll be able to recruit the players that he needs? I have no idea whether he'll be able to or not. It's got to be hard to entice talented players to come to Starkville. I know most recently he has been in the NFL. Beyond that, I know very little about him. Has he recruited before? If so, where? Does he have any kind of reputation along those lines?
