Live maybe, but he still sounds good in studio. I'll be seeing them May 22, for the first time in more than 20 years, and I'm wondering how he'll do, as well as Neil....supposedly he's been having tendinitis issues.
Saw them live on Palladia not long ago, Neil was still banging the skins like a champ but wow, very hard to listen to Geddy struggle that way. It was bad. Maybe he had the flu or something, I hope I'm wrong and your show is great. Keep us posted.
Seen Rush 8 times. Last time was 2011 Took my kid twice, both times on the lawn. Geddy has lost his voice. It ain't the album any more, but he is all Rush. He bass has never slowed down and add his responsibilities on the keys, you get a Rush show. The professor would not even go on if he were not the professor. Alex Lifeson has, and remains one of the best 50 pickers ever. It's a show and one to be appreciated. Rush gives you 3 solid hours of life. Set list never disappoints and the stage is always entertaining. Usually, right side of the stage is some sort of industrial visual. One year they had washers and dryers and some chick doing laundry. Another was a rotisserie chicken set up. People were processing like a hundred chickens through. Rolling racks out, quality control...whole 9. So look for that, cause it's always entertaining, no matter how mundane. Don't take it too serious and have a blast. Dismiss his voice, same as your own and you will be assured a lasting memory. and butter is in everything, bacon ain't. Butter gets the nod, being all purpose...
@CajunlostinCali Yep, I've seen the videos. This will be my fifth time seeing the boys, first since the Presto tour. I got a last minute opportunity to get tickets for Time Machine, but didn't have the ready cash on me. On my birthday, too, and the video indicates that was an incredible show. My tickets this time are on Alex's side.
@shane0911 Ten days to Rush in New Orleans. The tour has begun and the early comments on the fanboy sites indicate they are playing as well as ever, and Geddy's voice sounds better than it has in years. Maybe he just needed a break.
Great news bro, I sure hope that is the way it is. I'd love to see them again. Its been since the Power Windows tour for me and I hated that album, one of their worst IMO but the show was great. I'm a 2112, Moving Pictures, Signals guy. Subdivisions may be my favorite, love the drum fills by NP on that one.
