was watching sportscenter just now and they said that the sugar bowl president said he wants to play the game in Tiger Stadium. pretty cool
The only potential problems I see with this scenario is if LSU is playing in the game and if the weather is bad. The opponent would scream if LSU is the home team for a bowl game nd make UT fans sound reasonable. Also, the weather could be an issue at that time of year, but the same is true of Shreveport, Memphis and anywhere else north of Miami. I do think that the Sugar Bowl needs to stay in Louisiana, no matter where it is played. Too much history.
Let 'em bitch. Miami has played in the Orange Bowl, and UCLA has played in the Rose, so it's not without precedent. Screw 'em, I say.
I'm sure it won't be a problem if USC is playing for the MNC in the Rose Bowl. And then there was the Gator Bowl, Orange Bowl, etc. Let 'em bitch and moan about the venue being home field advantage. There was snow in the Independence Bowl a few years back. The bowl game played at Boise State almost always has snow. Cotton Bowl has been down right wet and frigid. Ideally, you don't want crappy weather for a BCS game, but if the $ says in LA, then I am all for it.
I hope the Sugar Bowl committee does decide to play the Sugar Bowl in Tiger Stadium. I don't believe that something so associated with New Orleans like the Sugar Bowl is should be played outside of Louisiana. I also hope they decide to move the Wyndham New Orleans Bowl to Shreveport and play it at Independence Stadium.
