1. It was supposed to cost less. It's not even reducing the rate of rise.
  2. In 2009......
"After meeting with Senate Democrats on Dec. 15, President Barack Obama made a number of claims about what the health care bill would achieve if passed.

"We agree on reforms that will finally reduce the costs of health care," Obama said. "Families will save on their premiums; businesses that will see their costs rise if we do nothing will save money now and in the future. "

  3. The question that everybody is evading is "Do you think repealing it will makes costs go down?
  4. Just repealing it and going back to status quo ante? No. Implementing real and meaningful reform? Possibly. The first imperative is to end the crony capitalism that exists between big pharma, insurance, hospitals and the government. It existed before Obama and only got worse under him. Real competitio and truly open markets will put a push to rationalize the market.
New treatments, procedures and technologies will inevitably result in higher costs overall. However real reform and competition should reduce everyday costs.
  5. Of course not. And Obamacare was never going to lower costs. It was always going to shift the burden.
  6. These are republican talking points and they mean nothing.
  7. Mean a lot if the congress would get off its ass and do something about it.
  8. Tort reform, open insurance market etc. don't add up to a hill of beans in the grand scheme of things. They are needed and can help but in the end, they don't change the fact that we are an unsustainable track.
  9. No doubt
  10. Where ya at boy? Cost the ultimate seat.
