Stoops' Comments to Lynn Swan at Halftime

Are any other LSU fans offended by Stoop's rebuttal to Lynn Swan's comment on how he would respond to LSU's D, the Nation's No. 1 Defense. He really showed his ass by correcting Swan, saying LSU's D was only the No.1 SCORING Defense and OU was the No.1 yardage defense.

I find it interesting that for all their Nagurski Awards, Jim Thorpe Awards, Bednarik Award and Lombardi Awards they don't understand that scoring defense is all that really matters.

    What does Bob think today?

I felt the same way, but our boys showed them! For a team full of award winners, the Tigers surely looked a hell of a lot better.

Yeah he said that shortly after his cry baby tirade on the sideline/field. What a whiner. He should have been penalized for showing his ass and staying on the field during the game.

Stoops only stated a fact. The guy was getting trashed during the game and he just spoke from a competive heart. Not to bad he stood up for a fct about his team. The problem here as I see it is these rediculous throw a mike in your face halftime interviews. These guys have a job to do and the reporter needs to go away and let them coach. I know I don't need any questions when I am having a bad day or a good day. Let these guys focus

All of these coaches get an interview as they leave for halftime. They know it comes with the territory. I think Stoops and their team loved reading their press clippings and collection of awards. This is what sets Nick Saban head and shoulders above other college coaches. He is the one that is poised and focused.

tiger fan, I absolutely agree. What enlightening information do we ever get from these interviews as the coach is trying to get to the locker room?

"Coach, what do you need to do in the second half?
"Well, we need to just keep playing hard and eliminate our mistakes."
"Thanks coach. Back to you, guys."

The best comment all year came from Lloyd Carr ("Why would you ask a dumb question like that?"), and should have been directed at ALL of the sideline microphone jockeys.

Stoops was totally in shock from the beating they were taking. He really lost his cool (unlike Nick).
I was really impressed with Lynn Swan. He is from USC, but you would never know it from the complimentary remarks he made about "The National Championship Game" & our team.

I agree with you about the reporters asking dumb questions to
    the coaches at halftime.

    However

Stoops fact is no longer true, his D and his team isn't #1 now and
I don't think he ever gave us any respect before or after the game.

They just didn't think we were for Real and I bet today they would
say it was all thier fault.
