Amazing athlete. I also thought about the Deion comparison. The scary thought is he can only get better in both sports.

He definitely had the stuff. But I loved the agressive attitude Chad had. The texas players were wetting themselves.

What's truly impressive about his pitching is that he just seems to get better & better with each outing. He had an outstanding CWS, which is unbelievable when you consider how few pitches he's actually thrown in his life.

I didn't get nervous when he came in because he's just one of those guys that LIVES for the pressure situations. Freak. Total f'ing FREAK.

I agree 100% izzy! Chad was amazing, just made me smile so much. I love how excited he was after the strikeouts. And how Gibbs caught the pitch and immediately rolled it out to the mound cause he knew that was it. A few brave (or dumb?) Tigers ran and chest bumped Jones.....ouch.

its not crazy. in fact being a lefty middle relief guy is the quickest key to the bigs. you dont even have to break 80 mph and you're still in demand.

or even as a starter . look at 46 yo jamie moyer. randy johnson is 45 i think.

the list of little talented 40 yo relievers lies heavily on the left side. darren oliver, trever miller, matt herges, ron villone.

chad could easily play baseball at the major league level throwing in the 90s as a middle reliever.

the bigger question, surprisingly, just might be football.

Has anyone ever played two sports and pitched? That seems hard. Seems like they would want you working on mechanics, etc in the offseason. That's the only thing I wonder about.

tom glavine was a top draft pick in hockey but of course, didnt play.

yeah it would be tough as hell. pitchers dont even work on batting much less another sport.

chad jones covering first base in the first game may have been my favorite moment.

first, a pitcher has never covered first quicker.

second, i was praying the dude running to first would meet him simultaneously.

    unfortunately this never happened.
