The position that most has to get into the flow of the game is QB. It's hard to get into the flow when you are in and out. We are going to lose some games we should win because of a freshman QB but that's okay he needs experience.
We can't lose games trying to develop a quarterback. Russell ain't there yet. LSU could easily be 1-2 at this point. Why? because we can't get a passing game going.
Wow, sounds like plagurism from the LSU Post game wrap up. I think Russell should either be started and played the whole game, or let Randall start and play the whole game. This switching out thing is for the birds.
With Marcus Randall in there, it's only pushing JR to become a better QB. He's still making mistakes that are expected. JR can't handle it on his own just yet, and I'm glad to see that Marcus Randall supports and encourages him.
Word. I didn't really like it that much either. I say pick one and go with him....or even switch them out, but not every other series. It's too much and IMHO it doesn't give either one of them enough time to get in a groove.
I posted this in another thread, but I think that is relevant to this one too: If Randall starts it is a distraction for the team because any mistake that he makes Nick and Jimbo will feel the urge to put JR in. Also, this whole ordeal has to be getting to Randall, right now if he goes into the game he is going to be thinking that he has to be perfect or else he is coming out of the game. That adds a lot of unnecessary pressure and I don't think Randall is the kind of guy who thrives under pressure. I guess my bottom line is that JR starting and playing the whole game would solve a lot of problems. The more Randall plays the more questions there will be.
this makes two games this season where Russell was in there with the game on the line. he made things happen against OSU when it mattered and he was making throws that final drive and he hit Early square in the chest....RIGHT AT field goal position. people are getting down on Russel because he missed some throws, but he's not missing these throws because of lack of talent. he'll get there. fact is...with the game on the line and a min left....he moved the ball down the field and if Early would have hung onto that perfect pass and gone down....that would have put us in field goal position and a chance to win.
Like the ESPN guys were saying, "LSU has horrendous QB play", I tend to agree. Up to this point, I don't see a clear cut starter. Looks like the media and polls were correct in the preseason rankings.

Let Saban choose who starts.
Watch the game again because it wasnt square in the chest. It was thrown to a spot so it couldnt be picked off but it was clearly behind Doucet. Catchable yes but it would have been a circus catch.
