Spurrier Takes Name Out of Contention for Gator job.

Woohoo!!!! Hooray for no Spurrier at UF. I have a feeling Urban Meyer from Utah will be the next Florida head coach.

 

Damn I was looking forward to Saban whipping his ass each and every year..

To bad we did not have Saban when he was at Florida, the record would be a little different.

 

Actually Saban did play Spurrier in 2000 and 2001 and we lost both meetings pretty badly.....41-9......44-15

 

As much as I would love to just whip Spurrier's ass every year, I'd rather not give him the oppurtunity to build Florida back to where they were. They were just plain scary.

 

Well the operative word is the beginning of Sabans career at LSU. We also lost to UAB...

I would like the program Saban has built take on Spurrier. Times are very different, LSU has a National Title and two SEC titles.
Things are very different now, Sabans players, his program from those two years.

 

Wow, what a slap in the face to Gator nation. It's gonna be interesting to see if the new coach does better or worse than Zook. Gator nation could have just shot themselves in the foot by not giving Zook longer. For whoever the new coach of the Gators is, you had better bring your best, cause this is the SEC!

 

Our coach will still be better no matter who they bring in :wink:

 

I fully understand what you're saying, but I still think Spurrier would spell trouble for even Saban. Not to mention, Saban couldn't beat a Zook team last year and this year we needed a last minute drive to beat that same Zook team. I'd hate to think of how last year and this year's LSU/Gator matchup would have gone with Spurrier on the sidelines.

 

Yeah, right. We lose 3 games in 2 years and you are going to bring one of them up to denigrate Saban. Get a clue. :dis:
