I hope I can make it out there on Saturday, if I do I will be going to the Tiger One LSU Sports Network setup out side of Maravich Center. It feels like the season is getting closer, I want to setup up the pit and get out there early.

Here is the schedule of events for LSU on Saturday:

Opening ceremony for my son's Little Legue is at 9:00 am on Saturday with a 10:30 game to follow. The kit for a batting cage that I ordered came in last night meaning I will be putting it up Saturday afternoon. Thus, no LSU on Saturday (actually looking forward to getting the cage up ) I'm sure we will be updated by those who can make it to the events. I am going to try and make the Sunday baseball game. Go Tigers !

What's the story on the spring games under Miles....I've never been and i'm thinking about taking my nephews since the real games have gotten so expensive to take the whole family to. Does it have the atmosphere of a game w/ the band etc. or is it just like watching practice?

The past two under CLM have pretty much been like practices or glorified scrimmages. From what I understand this one will be more like a real scrimmage. They are calling it the Super Tiger Bowl and advertising it as a bowl game of sorts. The spring game has never had the feel of a regular season game and probably never will. Hopefully guest coaching by Joe Addai, Kevin Faulk, Jarvis Green and Anthony Mcfarland will boost attendance.

I don't know what the format will be but I was talking to someone I know in the band last night and the band will definitely be there and they were told that the game was trying to be made more exciting. Whatever that means.

I guess Jarvis Green can't make it. But they added a couple more names in Hill, Gay and Alexander.

The band Artemis will be playing at 10:30am by the pregame booth.

Has anybody checked out this band before?

Radio ads in Baton Rouge promise a real spring game for a change. "Four quarters of football!", they say. LSU is finally beginning to promote the spring game.

I think our attendance has been low in recent years because:

    1. They have been scripted scrimmages, not football games and it bored the hell out of the crowd. Play a real game and they will come.

    2. They do it in the heat of the day and it gets damned hot out there. The March practice this year may help in that regard. Late April was hot.

    3. They haven't promoted it very much. Les is kind of secretive and probably wouldn't even play a spring game if the AD didn't make him do it for the sake of off-season fan interest and ticket sales. You just know he doesn't want VT to see any of the new offense.
