    This is the state record 13.9 lb speckled trout. The record before that was 10.4 in MS.

    I actually know the guy in this picture. His name is Michael Lee and he works out at the USM Research Lab. I haven't talked to him but I don't think that he caught it. I think someone just brought it to the lab. It was caught in Pascagoula, MS.

    Ok, so I feel obligated to come back on here and set the record straight. All of this above is bullshit. The guy pictured, works at the lab (I know him). Here's the real story on this fish: This is a female speck that was used for breeding and it was raised in captivity and she died. Michael took a picture with it and his brother posted it on the internet with the bullshit story. Although it's a real speck and it really is 13.9 lbs, it was not caught in the wild and therefore was not a state record.

    So....now you can't trust any of the data he generated.
