I'm not too much of an italian dish cook, in fact, when you get away from "Brown gravy" type meals, I'm out of my element. I couldn't even really tell you the when one cheese is better suited for a particular dish from another. Anyway, I just finished preparing some spaghetti to surprise my bunch when they get home- they love ssgetti- and was wondering how everyone else cooks theirs. Here's mine: -Brown 1 lb of ground round & 1lb. of ground sirloin. -I buy the small jars of sauce cause I like to mix several. Today I mixed these three: Chunky Ragu tomato, garlic & onion flavor with Prego marinara with Classico Italian sausage with peppers & oniion flavor. I find mixing several adds a lot of flavor, it could be all in my head but the kids seem to really like it. -Add Guidry's fresh cuts (pre-cut onions with a little parsley), & seasoning to taste. -Add fresh cut shrooms, garlic cloves & bell peppers. -Half a can of diced ro*tel tomatoes & chilies -I pour it in a crock pot and add shredded parmesan cheese and shredded Cheddar & Monterey Jack. I add a little at a time and stir it in. Serve with Joe Gambino's garlic bread or Texas Toast. -Turn the crock pot on high and let it cook for at least a couple of hours.
Yum, here is mine: Chef Boyardee nuked and puked within an hour. Sorry, spaghetti is kinda gross however spaghetti O's rule the universe!
Tiga. Yours sounds great.Next time try one lb of ground sirloin and 1 pound of ground pork.. Yum yum.
Noteworthy; My dad used to put chicken in his spaghetti. I remember now as it has been some time however then, I was pretty fond of his chicken spaghetti.
Can't do it Cajun. I absolutely CANNOT stand chicken ssgetti. Thanks for the tip though, I know MANY people do. Red, you just made me feel so stupid, I forgot to put meatballs. Last time I put some of those lil cocktail sausages and they liked them but I just completely forgot this time.
You people have got to stop posting things that get Red and I to agree on stuff. He is right though, the italian sausage is Super good in a gehtti. I however do not use ragu or prego or any of that stuff. I make my own sauce mixing Tom Sauce, Tom Paste and veggies and seasoning. I add the browned G meat to it and let it simmer. I bake the italian sausage and add that to the simmering meat sauce as well. It's a whole lot good, Whhoooo oooooo Sa cest bon
