How about a congrats to the Tigers? This is perhaps the greatest LSU win that I have ever seen in Tiger Stadium, which includes Auburn/LSU 1988 (7-6 Earthquake Game); Florida/LSU 1997 (upset of No. 1 Florida); Tenn/LSU 2000 (OT win). I hope you, unlike some other Georgia fans, will not say how UGA lost the game or would've won had you had Gibson, etc. And, while Georgia had more total yardage, it is not very indicative of the game. Take away the 93 yd screen pass (on which I thought there was a clip) and Greene has a little over 200 yds to Mauck's 180 and the total offense is 320ish to 280ish. Very even. I definitely think that this is the toughest team LSU will play all year and sorry, but I'll be routing for Tennesse and Florida to win the east b/c I do not want to see Georgia again this year. UGA's defense is very good and Greene too. Nonetheless, LSU's defense is just as good if not better than UGA's. Even more amazing is the fact that both teams had short fields with the offense only having to drive 50 yards and neither couldn't convert, UGA in the 1st half and LSU in the 2nd half. Anyhow, I hope your not out too much money for betting against the Tigers. This ain't the same LSU team you used come see before you went UGA.
I'm getting tired of hearing how Georgia lost the game as well. Like the Tigers didn't play any part in the outcome. It was our D that stopped them all those times in the first half. It was our O that scored the only TD in the first half. It was our team that came together in the 2nd half and physically took Georgia out of the game. I'm not looking for unending praise for the tigers from the national media, just a little respect for beating a higher ranked team, a team only Corso (from the national meida) thought would win the game. All these backhanded compliments are classless.
I guess we'll have to win the SECCG and the NC to earn respect. With our schedule, it is not impossible. I see Arkansas as the toughest team left on our schedule. What I think is really amazing about this team is the fact that we did NOT have a great offensive game but we still won. If we can get the offense to click like it did in the previous 3 games, patsies or not, then watch out b/c our great defense will really be complimented. Defense wins championships and from what I saw yesterday, it seems our defense is top 5 and reminds me of Oklahoma to some extent. Now add an offense that plays anything better than yesterday then we're in pretty good shape.
You may be right, although we can't take any game for granted, not even MSU this week. Winning at South Carolina and Alabama could be tough. Still, I'm pretty optimistic about this season.
I wasn't calling him out only asking that he give the Tigers the credit they deserve. As for you saying he hasn't talked smack, bull$hit. He has talked smack. Not so much on this board but on other boards wherein he guaranteed a UGA win. Do the link - http://www.aunation.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3113&start=0&sid=16b3d348f34e5abde466eabb5695aea0 If you don't think I'm entitled to ask for some respect from someone who promised a victory against LSU then you can kiss my @ss!
i hope we do see georgia in the cg. beating them again and winning the national title will give us our best recruiting class yet. the media still wouldn't give us respect though. they would find something else to say.
Well, I wouldn't exactly call it smack but he was confident as hell. About 90% of the posters picked Georgia. Of course most of their experience with LSU is the 31-7 spanking they put on our decimated team last year. I would expect an LSU board to be predominately in favor of LSU and likewise for a Ga Board and their team. But this was an Auburn board. I would have expected more of a 50-50 split given the relative equality of the two teams. Of course, these goobers were all predicting a Nat Championship for Auburn too, so...
Not me. UGA once this year is enough for me. Also, beating the same team 2 times in a year is VERY hard. Ask Tennessee, circa 2001. There is no doubt that UGA is the 2nd best team in the SEC this year behind LSU and ahead of Tennessee. Their defense is really fast and great and Greene is a cool cat. Plus, they should have Gibson back for a re-match, which could spell a different outcome. Perhaps not though since I think we played poorly and still won.
LSUtigah, Southlink is a polite, long-term, well-respected member of the board and we need to encourage that in rival posters. If he's a rude flamer on some other board then take him on over there where it will do some good. I have no problem with that, but It comes off badly here. I know you're kind of new, but you're shooting blindly. Why not take on SECChamps2003 or Teusink who have been totally rude flamers? Southlink is only supporting his team and when they aren't playing us he's a pretty good Tiger fan.
