South Carolina just won the NIT Championship over St. Joe's (60-57) at the buzzer in a game that was played in NYC (a virtual home game for St. Joe's) - earning the right to call yourself #66 isn't all that glorious, but I was impressed with their play and they represented the SEC very well. St. Joe's had lots of experts up in arms when they were "snubbed" by the NCAA and left out of the Tourney. South Carolina actually held St. Joe's to zero field goals over a 10.5 minute span in the second half - great defensive performance. Hey, it's a banner to hang from the rafters, and three extra weeks of competitive basketball in a tournament format is invaluable experience. Hats off to South Carolina...
alright South Carolina, now get ready for your baseball team's *** whoopin' when they get to Bat-on Rouge! but hats off...congrats and nice win for the conference
Say what you will about the NIT, but at least ONE team in our damn conference was able to do something! :hihi:
yall know that if notre dame wins one more game in the big east tourney, then uab is headed to the nit. that pretty much makes uab #64. the same team that could have beat us by 40 if they didn't hold back.
A team we beat by 15 points wins the NIT... and we couldn't come close to winning a first round game at the NCAA. I'm curious whether we could have even made noise in the NIT.
just goes to show you how inconsistent LSU really was. When it mattered most they played there worse game of the season. Man Im still ticked:angryfire
UAB may have been the 64th team to get in due to the automatic bids, but they weren't considered the 64th best team. Their seeding is a reflection of what the committee thought of them (41-44, and probably 41 given the bracket they were in). That's not great either, but it's best to think about this properly.
