This guy is a joke!! I hope somebody knocks his head off.

BEREA, Ohio -- In his first comments since being baptized into the NFL during last Saturday's preseason loss, rookie Kellen Winslow essentially challenged his Cleveland Browns teammates to match his intensity level and defended his emotional outbursts as a function of his competitiveness.

As an aside, the former Miami tight end also said that he's asked defensive coordinator Dave Campo to provide him some snaps as a pass rusher in training camp.

And he said all of it with a straight face, following a morning practice in which Winslow demonstrated both his enormous playmaking skills and proved he can sometimes manage to keep his passions in check.

"I only know one speed and I'm going to go 100 percent every play," said Winslow, the sixth player chosen overall in the draft. "I think the Browns need this. We all need [to do] this. We want [to make] a name for ourselves. We want to make our identity."

I only regret that we didn't get to play Miami last year. Man I would've loved to see Lavalais, Hill, Spears & Co. look as ridiculous as we did White & Manning.

Didn't his dad play in the NFL as well? Was he the same way? Just curious.

Not sure why all the negative remarks about a guy trying to fire up his teamates? Also, not sure why soldier has to be spelled soulja? Can someone help me out? To an outsider it seems like nothing but pure negativity about Kellen Winslow Jr. is allowed on this board. He is a good player and if the browns didn't want that player who they now is going to come in and speak his mind out things then they wouldn't have drafted him. Obviously they need sometype of spark to fire the team up as nothing has worked lately, especially since they went 5-11 last year. Kellen winslow will be a great player in the NFL and his fire and intensity that he brings to the game will be recognized as a positive, not negative. I can't see how people can critize a guy for him wanting his teamates to go all out on every play like he does. Just some observations...

Let's leave the race card* in the deck. Most of us don't like his attitude based upon things we've seen & read. Cocky, unproven rookies do not impress most people. Walk the walk, then talk the talk.

*We don't like Shockey either for the same reasons. Dude was all mouth coming out of Thug U. Now, after scoring 4 TDs in 2 years, we don't hear a thing from him.

KW isn't making many friends among his teamates either. ESPN reported this morning that "Soulja" leveled one of his teamates during a walkthrough drill in which coaches were trying to explain the importance of timing to the success of a particular play they had been working on. Winslow allegedly blindsided a DE that had his head turned while focusing on his coach during the non-contact drill. ESPN reported that several veteran Browns players "were not impressed" with young Winslow's professionalism.

and the saga continues for an insatiable ego.....real classy. :dis:
