Before the Big XII Championship game, Oklahoma. Since then, USC. Just so we could shut those f#$%s up once and for all.
I think OU definitely deserves to be in the NC, despite what people say, the BCS actually worked this year. The BCS was put into place to do away with human bias, and in my opinion it worked.....but for LSU's sake I would rather be playing USC. Mainly because of the great year LSU is having and it all being over-shadowed and no matter what happens, this years NC will have an asterisk by it!!!! And that just sucks!!!!
I at first thought USC since I do think there should be a penalty for not winning the conference. Since only two conferences had a championship game I thought they should just treat not winning your conference like an extra loss in the BCS formula until all are on the same page. I was also brainwashed by the later loss is worse than an earlier one that has been going on for years. I then actually looked at the final totals and realized that OU would have finished ahead of USC even with "my" penalty. I also looked at the final polls and saw USC only had one victory over a ranked team and lost to an unranked team. OU had two wins over a ranked team (1 a Top 10) and a loss to a ranked (Top 10) team. I also realized that the Pac 10 only had 2 ranked teams vs. the Big 12's five and that USC had four wins over teams with an winning record versus OU's six. I think OU has a higher rated offense, and I know OU has a higher rated defense. The list could go on, so I changed my mind and realized that OU and LSU were the two top teams. I am glad to say that although I do think the BCS could be improved it did get the top two teams right.
ok, here's my take. if OU had won the bigxii champ game, it still would've been OU/LSU, LSU would have been 3rd in the human polls and 2nd in the BCS, and it would be the same argument except they'd be pissed at you guys instead of us..LOL
