I was thinking, when was the last time I went to Sonic? I was about 5 years ago, around Jennings, La., on the way home. STuck in a traffic jam, got off to eat and let it die down. VERY GOOD hamburgers! They really cook better in La., the patties tasted like they had salt and pepper when they were made up.

Best hamburger in Houston is at a little dive called "Texas Hamburger Palace", over by Harwin in west Houston. Run by an Oriental family, Vietnamese I guess. They make one with 2 patties, cheese, 2 strips of fresh fried thick sliced bacon, with some tomato and avacado!!! Wahooooo!

Sonic is more like an old-time local burger joint than a big chain burger store. They toast the bread on the grill along with the pattie. They have chilli dogs and onion rings. They have malts and ice cream.

One great thing about living in OKC if you are a Sonic fan is there is one every block, sometimes more than one. They are everywhere. Growing up in New Iberia I was so deprived, we had 1. Thats it, just 1 and we never went because there were other places closer. I'm a big fan of the chilli cheese tater tots. I could live on those alone.
