Just something to consider for all of those considering Jindal for governor. Jindal worked for President Bush for a few years. At the beginning of his campaign he stated that he was being supported by President Bush, however, I ask you, how many of you have seen a public endorsement by President Bush? No commercial, no mail out, no radio endorsement, NOTHING!

Now, the big concern: If you worked for someone and did a good job for that person and left on good terms then why wouldn't that person give you a letter of recommendation for your next employer? Anybody can have a reference, but how about a good word from that reference. The translation is plain and simple. If President Bush was of the opinion that Jindal was duly qualified then surely he would come out and speak on his behalf.

That being said, no further explanation should be needed as to why you should vote for Blanco.

Alternatively, bringing the president in is not a prescription for success in La politics.
Just ask Suze Terrell - the national committee killed her.

You guys, a link was left here the other day with the international frenzy about Jindal amongst Asian and Indian American websites...

People all over the Asian world are paying attention to this election, whether you believe it or not.

Bush and his advisors realized that it could damage his foreign policy to be shown openly supporting an Indian candidate. With the situation re: India vs. Kashmir, as well as India having nuclear standoff trouble with Pakistan at times over the past few years, and with Pakistan a key ally and border country who is friendly to the United States while we operate in Afghanistan, it was deemed best that Jindal not appear to have any connection with Bush because of the tenuous public relations situation and foreign policy efforts ongiong by the Administration.

Like it or lump it, I don't remember who left the link, but it's a valid reason.

Sorry, but that still seems ridiculous to me.

    He's an American.

    Isn't he?

Yet, plenty of Americans of chinese or korean ancestry have run for office and no one blinks an eye.

Yet the Pakistani and INdian press is transfixed on this election.

    Why?
The only way that makes sense is that, indeed, Jindal keeps a lot of lessons from the old country close to his heart, like a zeal for a theocracy. why else would a catholic embrace and take his marching orders from religious lunatics like pat robertson and his crowd. Now I get it, I think.....

I see you and CottonBowl'66 share your affinity for daisy chaining logic and taking leaps across huge intellectual divdes that would make Morpheus and Neo even blush...
