My oh my how far we have come. In today's society, apparently a beautiful white chick jumping into the arms of a black male is racially offensive towards black people. :dis: Please oh please Halle Berry be racially offensive to me. Tony Dungy saying the MNF intro was racially offensive to African-Americans http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3172694
Dungy's just pissed because the script originally had Oprah jumping into Peyton Manning's arms the week before. Archie was afraid she'd hurt him so he wouldn't sign off on it.
I am definitely not Racist, but there are certain minorities out there that look at anything like this situation with racist sunglasses. I think its deplorable for Dungy to look into this as a racist issue....
RACIALLY OFFENSIVE??? I would think it would be more racially offensive to never show black-white relationships on TV... that would represent racism blah blah blah. I suppose some people are just ignorant and read to much into things. I guess we need these people though, I know I certainly would never think of calling that racist. He's only adding to the attention ABC got for doing it... the guy doesn't think about what he's doing.
I knew some people were upset because of the salacious nature of the intro. and the fact that it's on in family time in most of America. Dungy's comments were discussed on PTI today and it gave the impression that his primary objection was that he did not think it was appropriate considering he and his family were watching MNF that night and he has two young sons. He made a statement to the effect of, "I'm not putting my team on Monday Night Football if this is the way things are going to be from now on." I did not take any racial overtones away from the intro. and I didn't think anyone else did either (Note to black people: See how far we have come? A white Southern guy sees a naked white chick leaping into the arms of a black guy and he doesn't lose it. A little, itty, bitty, teensy bit of credit for that, please?) However, I do think it was morally inappropriate to show such content in the time and place that they did. It may have been 9PM and the young'uns may have been in bed on the East Coast, but they were just gettin' in from pee-wee league practice on the West Coast. ABC really needs to dial it back a notch; the FCC and the NFL are not playing around with that crap anymore since last year's Super Bowl halftime show.
I guess HWJR isn't geared towards white folks you know the song "Ared you ready for some football?" Black people don't like that country $h!t!
Obviously he's a flamer, otherwise he wouldn't be spending all this time trying to rile everyone up with his useless posts. Strange Voice: If you respond to them, they'll keep posting. :thumb:
