I couldn't believe what I witnessed on Fox News last nite.
    Did anyone else see this?

They showed some people who really looked like thugs with their signal towards the camera.
They said they didn't want to go to Houston, they wanted to stay because
they were tired of the conditions in the Superdome.
Its like they don't realize that the Astrodome has power, running water, air conditioning and other facilities that the Superdome and New Orleans can
    no longer provide.
They are giving up the Astrodome and the Superdome for actually worse conditions going back into the city.

These must be the same people who got Blanco elected! :hihi:

I can't blame these poor bastards in the Superdome for not wanting to be moved into another domed stadium. But staying in N.O. is not an option. There will at least be A/C, hot food, and medical care available in Houston

Taking political shots at the governor at a time like this is pretty damn lame, in my opinion.

I'm not taking political shots at the governor.
I'm taking shots at her for her lack of action or strength as governor to get anything done.

If I wanted to do the lame shots that the Democrats started to do yesterday
I would've gladly went after Mary Landreau.
I hope you feel the same way about the Democrats taking shots at Bush.

I think taking shots at any political figure in lieu of what is happening is silly, no one has ever faced a situation like this before. It's like Bosnia, Iraq, Bengladesh, Europe after the big one, etc. all rolled into one.

That's different. It's OK to take shots at Bush, but you can NEVER take shots at the libs. Didn't anybody teach you how PC works?

I haven't seen any of that. Just Republicans trying to blame Blanco for this, there are whole threads here. Not one about Bush.

I'm not a Blanco fan, I voted for Jindal, but to suggest she hasn't "taken any action" is to be unaware of the situation. I know you are in Colorado, Sourdough and aren't getting the 24/7 local hurricane news that we are. I'm not sure how you've arrived at your conclusion, but there is a LOT going on and the governor has been doing her job.

It is the main root of evil in the country...

Democrats refuse to support republicans in office, thus not allowing them to do anything productive,

and Republicans refusing to support Democrats in office, not allowing them to do anything productive...

We need to close those borders a bit, and support who we have, regardless of who you WANTED in that position...

It is real stupid to go back and say "I told you so" at a time like this

I think that there are more important concerns right now than this one. In a month or so I think it would be time to evaluate this part of the situation. Just my two cents.

You need to pay closer attention. RFK, Jr. said the Republicans' failure to stop global warming is the reason Katrina was so powerful. :dis:

The liberal media is all over Bush for "not saving these peoples' lives".

Frankly, Blanco is not the cause of anything, but my confidence level in her ability to lead the state through this is very low. She appears to be in over her head. Maybe she can bake cookies for the displaced and let FEMA run the show.
