Hopefully it is Russell. He will need to have a breakout year if LSU is going to win the SEC this year. If he doesn't, I think we struggle mightily.
Whitworth. He had a disappointing season after being a preseason All-American last year. Solid but not dominating. I think he will break out this year and earn himself a first-round draft pick and possible All-American honors.
Fair Enough. I would like one of the ends to step up and replace Marcus Spears. The d-line has been one of our strengths the last couple of years, and i would like to see that continue. But if we are going to name certain players, I would like to see my hometown boys Jamarcus Russell and Chevis Jackson step up.
you said it. i think chevis will really surprise a LOT of people this year. he didn't get a whole lot of PT last season. but he made some outstanding efforts/plays when he did. he really showed a lot of promise in his limited role. he and prude are the main reason i think our DB will be just fine despite our 2 key losses. i also think that steltz will have a really good year back there as well.
