1. I am no Auburn fan but, I don't agree with what the BCS did to them this year. Heres a solution to the problem. Assuming Auburn wins the Sugar Bowl, why dosen't the AP split their vote between Auburn and whoever wins the Orange Bowl. This would create a sort of tie for the AP Championship. It would still give the Orange Bowl winner their props while giving Auburn 1/3 of the National Title. What do you guys think?
  2. Yes.. .Without question. But it wont happen because the AP is a bunch of left coast suck ups...

  3. While being an SEC team and going undefeated is quite a feat, unfortunately Auburn simply started the year with too low of a ranking to get to the big game. Victims of circumstance.... I think the most classy thing for them to do is to play the game ahead of them as best they can and not worry about the NC...

If they raise hell about it, they will only get flak from everyone about the "whining"... which is what the media will call it.

As our beloved Nick Saban would say, "Go out there, and control what you can control."....
  4. Honestly, if Auburn comes out and absolutely blasts Va Tech (who played USC off their feet earlier this season) and the Orange Bowl is a muck-fest (remember that 2000 Orange Bowl b/w Oklahoma and Fla. St? THAT was one fugly ass game), hell yes AU should get a taste.

Va Tech's biggest loss of the year was by 11 to USC. If AU beats em by, say, 20 or more and the Orange Bowl is some turnover-infested joke of a game won by OU, the AP should do the right thing.

I mean, all those media types acted as self-appointed moralists last year. Why not again this year?
  5. Plus there is a controversy about whether the loser of the Orange bowl should be ranked number 2 or not... which would leave Auburn stuck at number 3.
  6. Good post, but Auburn deserves something for their trouble. If the AP splits their vote, who is it going to hurt? The Orange Bowl winner would already have the BCS title to their name andas we all know, you dont need but one poll to be national champion in college football.
  7. Of course if OU wins, then there is a remote chance it will be close. If Auburn hammers Va Tech and OU squeeks by USC (I predict an OU hammering of USC)
    Then there is a chance.

But if USC wins, look forward to an AP parade and celebrations, because their team finally won a legitimate MNC
  8. The Associated Press dosen't have to give Auburn the whole poll. Like I was saying, a split number 1 vote for the National Championship in the AP gives Auburn a taste and keeps everyone happy. The loser of the Orange Bowl would be number 2 in the Coaches Poll.
  9. Honestly, I think the SEC is getting screwed but I don't care one bit about Auburn getting screwed.

Last year, their fans laughed at us and mocked us for the Co-Championship.

Now they are feeling some of it and expect us to all bend over for them.

    No thanks
  10. Well, Auburn's not getting a NC this year...I thought for sure that was clear by now.

Also, Auburn will not beat VT by more than 10, if at all. This is a great VT team that probably should have beaten USC. When two very good defenses go at it, you probably shouldn't count on a whole lot of scoring (Auburn/LSU game).
