Oh, well. Who knows why it didn't happen. All the public indications were that he's guilty as sin. Just might be partisan politics as usual.
the scary thing is, throw a few adverbs in here and a half azz link and it could have been RED's post. which only proves no matter how eloquent the verbage, bullsh1t still stinks.
I surely speak for myself; indeed, I've made no eloquent rebuttle posts in this thread. http://www.halfass.com/
With Novak's speaking about what happened, I believe it is now plain and clear what happened and why no one has or ever will be indicted for not leaking Plame's name. Novak says he heard from a source that Wilson was sent to Niger by his wife in the CIA...(which he said was all over town) ..1st source never said her name. Novak then said he called Rove on something else but brought up Wilson being sent on this "mission" by his wife. Novak said Rove said, "You heard that too......?" Novak took that as confirmation #2 of Wilson's wife sending him to Niger. Novak then called the spokesman for the CIA who never said her name but said yes that she worked at the CIA and was not covert. Novak then went to the book, "Who's Who in America" where he went and got Plame's name which was listed as the wife of Joe Wilson. Novak said, which everyone including the NYT has blasted Rove for, that this was Bush Administration witchhunt to discredit Wilson.......Novak says the only thing he ever got from a Bush Admin offcial was from Rove who said "You heard that too....?" Novak also said the prosecutor has known from day 1 in 2003 who his sources were and since Plame was not a covert agent and because the sources did not break the Intelligence Identity Act, no one could be prosecuted for something that didn't happen. Case Closed.
You're misinformed. The entire reason for the special investigation was because the CIA filed a motion because she was covert. Also, Novak's sources fished this story to at least 2 and probably as many as 5 other journalists before they found one scummy enough to print it.
They all printed it after Novak......that's why the writers went to jail. Anyway, the prosecutor knew the sources from day 1 and no one was indicted for leaking anything. Like I said, case closed.
The CIA is still pissed about this and they are not going to leave it alone. The case is far from closed. The special prosecutor is still working on it and Libby's trial doesn't even start until January when people will have to testify under oath in open court. Much secret Grand Jury testimony will come out publicly. Remember a few things: 1. A covert CIA agent was indeed revealed and a law was broken. 2. Bush vowed that he would discover who leaked it and that the person would be punished. If that fails to happen, he will be revealed as dishonest. 3. Novak still refuses to disclose the name of the original leaker, only the leakers who confirmed that the original leak was true. But he certainly knows who that person is and so does the prosecutor. Novak ain't going to jail to protect a source. When he testifies in a trial, he's going to sing like a canary. 4. The prosecutor cannot finish the investigation of the leak and find that no leaker exists or political hell will break loose in an election year. 5. Why is Novak still protecting his source, referring to him only as "a high administration official"? Just how high will it go, one wonders. All the way to the VP, some have said since the beginning. 6. Today it was announced that Valerie Plame will sue Vice President Cheney and ten other officials involved in the leak for conspiracy to violate the espinonage act, violating her civil rights, and costing her a career in the Agency. That means a civil trial will be going on as well with more testimony coming into the open. This time there will be competing attorneys to call witnesses from the CIA and elsewhere to get the entire story out. 7. The fallout from the Libby and Plame trials will happen in 2007 and 2008, a presidential election year. No, this case will go on for a long time yet and everything will come out.
