It's not a question of if but when? SEC player of the year, honorable mention All - American. He almost came out last year. I think this year he will be a top 10 pick.

I think the better question would be.. What date does he have to make his decision by?

Someone will know this and save us the time of checking for ourselves. :D

Last year, the date to pull out of the draft was like June 20th or so... b/c I remember it being close or on my b/day...

As to when Bass will go pro, he will go pro during this time next year

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Mitchell, Minor, Bass, Davis, and T Mitchell all go to the chicago camps!

It wont happen, but I think that if you go to them with the intent on getting better your next year in college, it can be a real benefit.

I believe that all the accolades that Brandon Bass is receiving is nothing but a conspiracy by other SEC coaches to coax him into leaving early. They know that if he stays and with the incoming talent LSU would win the Nat'l Championship next year. "Fortunata you wretch !"

Seriously, his is deserving of every award he receives. I hope that he stays but won't hold it against him if he leaves. However, I would say chances are he will declare.

ESPN did a breakdown of the top 10 college players that are going to be drafted and i was shocked that Bass didn't even make the top 10. That being said, throwing in the inter. and HS players entering the draft, is Bass even a top 20 pick this year?

Honestly, I have read where Bass will be drafted in 20's and maybe in the 2nd round. Not saying that is going to happen, just said I saw that in a mock draft somewhere...

Bass cannot attend the Chicago camps this year & still come back to LSU. You only get to test the waters 1 time(after that...your college eligibility is up). Bass is going to have to rely on info from scouts & GM's to base his decision on. With guys like Villeneuva already declaring, Bogut likely, Simeon & Warrick being seniors & probably a few others after the tournament is over, I expect Bass to come back for his junior year. He can declare whenever he wants too. There is no beginning period.

Yes, he can declare anytime he wants, but I do believe there is a "deadline" by which underclassmen need to to declare. The June 20th date is the "pull out" of the draft date, and I want to say that sometime in May, perhaps around May 12-14, the underclassmen must declare their intention early to enter the draft. So, Bass will need to think long and hard over the next 6 or so weeks, and the Tiger nation will be waiting anxiously.

From everything I read, despite the SEC POY and honorable AA mention, Bass is still a late first rounder, if he's lucky. The problem really is his height--he's a little undersized for a NBA power forward (although I think he could play that spot given how strong and athletic he is), and needs to round out his game to show a little bit more of a SF game. He's shown an ability to hit the three, and so that's significant, but he could work on his game facing the basket next year.

He's best off with another year and a further run in the tourney--he needs to round out his game and get more publicity.
