So we're sitting at 10 right now. No more hope of an SECCG win to put us in the sugar. Who needs to win to give us the best chance of a BCS at-large berth if we beat Arkansas.

well for one, Beat Arkansas, and hope Arkansas can beat UF in the SEC Championship game. that would help.

Boise State is at Nevada. Nevada is 8-3 so there is a realistic shot for BSU to lose. Notre Dame losing to USC helps. It depends on what scenarios happen in the SECCG. I could see Florida getting picked over LSU for a BCS at-large if they lose to Arky.

I think a BCS berth is a stretch (just like pulling for Bama and Miss State was last week). We'll get a good bowl, a better bowl if we beat the Hogs. It still won't be quite the season everyone wanted/expected, though.

i think a BCS berth is quite more likely than hoping for a MSU victory

need ND and Boise St to lose. ND may drop to below 8, but still likely to get a spot. best if ND gets blown out. Boise St wont lose but they could drop to #13 in BCS if a couple teams jump them.

also want ark to lose to uf to make sure both seccg teams dont get bcs spots

also want uf to get in nc game in case sugar wants lsu.

wv wins out. louisville lose one game.

likely scenario----4 at large spots. boise st. ND. Michigan. Wisconsin/LSU

my main concern is that if lsu beats ark then ark beats uf, then uf might take lsu's spot. doubt sec would get 2 at large bids.

I outlined it in another thread.

You basically have to beat Arkansas, do this and the rest of the SEC doesn't matter (even if Arkansas beats UF in the championship game..IMO unlikely...it is also unlikely that Ark would be able to recover any ground over LSU)

    You need to either:

    1. Hope Rutgers beats WVU
    2. USC beats Notre Dame

I know that, especially #2, may be hard to stomach, but that is the best way for LSU to earn an at-large bid. The only people above LSU right now (not counting Arkansas, because you would have to beat them to be considered) are Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Notre Dame. Since Wisconsin is right above LSU, by beating Ark, LSU would likely leapfrog them. That is what leads me to my conclusion.

    1. LSU wins out
    2. Notre Dame beats USC
    3. UF wins out and gets the NCG invite
    4. LSU gets Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, USC/Michigan in the Rose, WVU/Georgia Tech in the Orange, Texas/Boise St. in the Fiesta...

    Uh, no?

The only way, first off, that WVU wins the big east is if Louisville loses to either Pitt or UConn....not gonna happen.

If ND and WVU both make it to the BCS with an at-large, LSU is stuck with an Outback Bowl-type bid.
