So now Regis Koundja's gone, too?

This was supposed to be-in martin's words-a defensive stopper this year (not much stopping, period, from anyone on our squad so far)...

This is a former High School All-American we're talking about, and now he's gone...

First Thomas is lost to the season from a "freak neck injury", and now Koundja's flown the coop...I wonder how many times Brady will harken back to these two developments, along with Spencer Ford's "situation", to explain his team's failures when they do occur this year?

Davis will hit a wall unless he's in the greatest shape of his life. Bass will get double- and triple-teamed when Big Baby leaves the game. We will then devolve into the "Throw it around the three point line and pray someone slips" offense...

Don't worry- the standard for men's basketball is to be in the top 64 at least once every five years. That'll earn you a raise and contract extension.

"Regis Koundjia, who missed the game on Saturday night for what Coach Brady called a "personal problem," was back at practice Sunday evening and participated fully in the practice. Coach Brady said afterwards that he had met with Koundjia and everything is "fine" with the sophomore forward who will be back in uniform for Monday's game."

OK, so now your "defensive stopper" is back...Why the heck was he missing?

    Methinks abrasive coaching style, pehaps?

Wouldn't be the first time, as Jabari refused to enter games because of it during the '00 season, and Stro actually went to Emmert on two separate occassions during that same season...

Shawnson Johnson flew the coop after being brought in as someone who was "potentially better than Stro" because he couldn't wear cornrows and didn't play like he thought he should be...Ton Gipson left the team...Spencer Ford mentally melted down before ever stepping foot on LSU's campus as a scholarship athlete...

Hell, Johnson had to sit out a year because he didn't get his grades filed on time with the JUCO to get eligible, even though he actually MADE the grades...

Yet another page-turner in the "as the LSU Basketball Team Turns" Soap Opera...

I wish harm on a man who inflicts more harm on our University than you care to admit...The sooner he's gone, the better for LSU Basketball.

He is the only coach on our campus who does not come from a winning background and/or who hasn't won no the elite level as soon as they were inserted...Save for perhaps Women's Soccer...

Saban, Smoke, Chatman, Greg Jones in Men's Golf, Karen Bahnsen in Women's Golf, Pat Henry formerly of T&F, Yvette Girouard of Softball, Breaux in Gymnastics...and Brady...Who has reached the Top 16 in his profession once in 7 or 8 years now...

Hell, Chatman took her team to the Final Four her first year, and they're #1 right now in her second year...It's an apples & oranges situation, I know...But I'm saying that each and every one of our coaches wins, except for this one...and you people support him endlessly...

You can be a fan of LSU Athletics and not be a fan of a coach...As most were a fan of LSU Football, but were not a fan of Lou Tepper and Gerry DiNardo towards the end...Don't dare try to say that you can't be a fan of LSU and not support the coaches...That's bullsh!t...

Have given Brady benefit of doubt...but...

I have read this site over the last couple of years and not posted very much...just a voyeur...but I must weigh in on this discussion of Brady as a coach. I am a pretty objective LSU fan...not usually opinionated but on the matter of John Brady, some recent personal experiences have put me on the "he is not good for LSU" side. My father is the founder of a high school that has one of best point guards in the south since Chris Jackson; as an eighth grader, he was named MVP of his class after the state championships. I have heard horror stories from both my father and his coach -- John Brady is crude, abrasive, classless and has overachieved to get the recruits that he has gotten committments from over the last couple of years -- my opinion is they came because of the possibility of resurrecting the tradition at LSU started by Dale Brown and his cast.

This particular recruit will probably be playing in the NBA one day...they go out of state to play in the Nike, Mcdonald's and Reebok sponsored tournaments and he performs better than or equal to all of the national recruits that you hear about...and because of the crassness of John Brady, he is being told by men of character to go to either Baylor, North Carolina or Duke. He is an honor student and upstanding young man with tremendous talent. So all the talk about Brady needing to recruit kids that have character just won't happen because if they have any, he is not the type of coach they want to be around.
