Truth. That subject was discussed with some buds. Did LSU not tarp the field overnight? Looked very... soggy. Though that still doesnt explain the sudden shift to the plays I refer to as mingerball.
Yeah, hopefully it's not a permanent trend. I do like the fact that even on a crappy day we still had over 500 yards. We just didn't score like we should have. Also I give credit to Auburn's defense, the line in particular. They were better than I expected them to be with the exception of that dirty hit to Burrow's knee.
The Offense did look out of sorts. Timing was off most of the day and I saw some dropped passes. Some of it could have been the field and weather but both teams have to play in that.
The Barn is the best 2-loss team in the country. We have got to convert and play our game - can’t leave 14-21 pernts on the field. C’estbon will be ready for us as usual. Will be a very tough game to win, regardless of Anything, really. Geaux Tigers!
Yeah, but if you can complete passes at the 50, you can complete them at the 5. We didn’t even try in the RZ. That’s E and O getting too safe/conservative rather than attack like they did early in the season. At least take a shot on 1st and goal, then you’ve got 3 more downs for the conservative approach.
Just the other day you posted a thread how O was unbeaten against all top ten teams not, Bama. Now, all of a sudden he's going to cost us the Bama game?
The team played horribly, it was an ugly win. However, Auburn has a damn good D and they made it difficult. I'll give you there were some conservative moments, but I think we do need to establish the run to beat Bama and other teams should we make the playoffs. The special teams played like shit, but that can be fixed. O won't throw anyone under the bus, but when things have needed changing, he's made those changes quietly at the appropriate time.
Remember last season's Super Bowl? The Rams had a great offense and had (presumably) a good game plan for attacking the Pats. Then the Pats rolled out a defense the Rams had never seen and the Rams had no answers. This is a scenario that scares me.
My biggest concern is stupid penalties. Our players need to walk away when taunted by the other team. And don't trash talk to the other team. Just let your play do your talking. We don't have anything to trash talk to Alabama about anyway until we beat them.
almost wish that game had been in the road as this team lost focus last week and it showed very curious about the decision to repeatedly run at the strength of the d the last 2 games. Is it going conservative or establishing a mindset that you have to be able to run to win going forward? anyhoo, this team needs this bye week and it comes at a good time. last 2 weeks has been emotionally and the upcoming road game will be more of a business trip
