sooo.... Its been an amazing few weeks helping out people in louisiana and mississippi. I rode down on my ship, the iwo jima, got to do survery flight ops over new orleans in the helo's and biloxi... so we get back and the ship sends out the seabee's (construction builders) on LCAC's to the beach. I was selected to augment them for medical support, and off I went. I was interviewed by a cbs news reporter on the biloxi beach. you may have seen me, maybe not? I was in blue navy coveralls, with a iwo jima ball cap by the beach.. that was me... seeing everything on TV just doesnt justify the visual up-close damage we are witnessing here first hand... just awful... no one has anything... so the next day I find out the the IWO goes to new orleans to help My ship left me stranded. I swear to god, I have no military orders, im just stuck here. so Ive been on cleanup crews here for the last week. we are now staying in keesler airforce barracks (REALLY NICE) hence the internet access. this place is amazing... pool tables big screen tv's and two bars right across the street from my barracks. just amazing... which leads me to.. THE LSU GAME- what the hell happened to our tight defense? ouch... keller was lighting up the defense all night long... the phrase "picking apart" was used waaay too much for my liking... anyway... I found about 4 fellow coonasses to watch the game with me, and about 3 ASU fans...talking crap the whole time... and ill add in the bar last night, everytime I would be rooting for LSU or if LSU was even mentioned, all I heard was "LSU sucks!" and "**** LSU" I was confused at first, and then realized it was a OSU fan that was pissed off that his team lost. this thread is all over the place but this is the first time ive gotten on a computer in two weeks. So to sum up, im doing ok and making it, although I did forget how hot southern heat is... THE HUMIDITY! and were clearing roads and churches and helping to build up the community of biloxi and gulport. DOC what has been happening lately? did bowe get injured? why wasnt he playing? or was he?
Just great Navy. I'm glad to hear that you are doing good also. Keep up the good work. Was that one hell of a game last night or what? :hihi:
JAW DROPPING... I don't think I couldve taken another capitol one bowl... I had to call my dad afterwards just to make sure he wasnt in the ER off of bluebonnet rd...
DUnno if you knew but bluebonnet was cut through all the way to airline and it is now "bluebonnet blvd" all the way.
Doing well, Doc. Glad to hear everything is alright. It's good to know that everything I've heard about Air Force bases is true...they really do live in the lap of luxury! I'm actually on standby right now. They took about 10 of us from the group down here in Pensacola and sent us to a bus driving safety course so we could drive people, supplies, etc. around if need be. Driving that prison buss, err, I mean White Tactical Insertion Vehicle, around Pensacola was pretty fun. We'll see if they actually need us this week.
Hey now. I'm drivin the damn thing, not riding in it! :thumb: Besides, which would you rather, the prison bus or the 7-ton?
It didn't matter what you called it, just as long as we didn't have to walk. I love the quote in your sig. Your CO must be one hell of a Marine. :thumb:
No Sh*t, about walking also. Our CO used to personally wake us about every morning yelling, alright jarheads, its time for killin.
